Summer Camp field trips for this week:

Wed (7/30) - Youth camp to Cobblestones. Cost: $12 (coupons available on their website). **Bring a bag lunch.
Thu (7/31) - Kids Camp to Maymont Park Nature Ctr.  Cost: $2.00/child, $3.00/adult. **Bring a bag lunch.

Softball team playoffs to have been held on Thurs. July 24th against WEAG were postponed due to rain. Games are rescheduled for Thu. Jul 31st.
 
The Women's Bible Study will have their last meeting for the summer on Mon. Jul 28th, concluding a study of James.  They will resume meetings on Mon. Sep 15th with a new study to be led by Sharon Perkins.

One Day Missions Blitz Coming on Sept 13th

Do you have a neighbor that could benefit from some loving outreach, such as a care basket, yard work help, or a wheelchair ramp?  The Missions Ministry Team is planning a "one-day missions blitz" (called Inasmuch Day) in our community on September 13th!  We want to know about any needs in our surrounding neighborhoods and communities that are not being met my anyone.  Contact Darla Phillips or Sarah Garrison to make these local needs known.

COST: $5.00 for non-swimmers (we are under a
covered deck, out of the sun) and seasoned pass
holders
$10.00 for swimmers 2 yrs old & up

NOTE: Chicken and Rolls will be provided, each
family must bring their own cooler with non-glass
beverages for their own family.

Vacation Bible School was a Success!
Held July 13-17, 2014

Average Attendance of VBS was over 200 with a count of 291 at Commencement!!

Theme: Agency D3
Agency D3 cadets are trained to answer the most important question, "Who is Jesus?" They'll use evidence kits to follow eyewitness reports, physical proof, and biblical accounts to collect and log evidence about Jesus while investigating 1 Peter 3:15.
Theme Verse: But honor the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. (1 Peter 3:15)
Daily Theme Points: Is Jesus Really God's Son?; Was Jesus More Than Just a Good Man?; Was Jesus' Death Real?; Is Jesus Alive?; What Do I Do with the Evidence About Jesus

There also was an Adult Bible Study of Deuteronomy.
 

June 30 - August 21

Here’s an invitation to all kids and youth to join the fun this summer! School-age kids & teens have the opportunity to join the FREE camp in school-aged divisions (Gr. K-5 & Gr. 6-12).  The leaders are Josh Fletcher and Brandi Eacho. They are planning some fun-packed activities that you will enjoy! Invite your friends and neighbors.

Attendees must bring money to pay for any field trips. You will be notified as to where, when, how much. Look for weekly announcements in the bulletin and/or on the website for exact plans.  Be sure to wear tennis shoes and “play” clothes for all the outdoor games. Some days we’ll get wet!!!
