From Bad Blood to Saving Lives
In 1983, hemophiliacs in America were KNOWINGLY being dosed with blood containing hepatitis-C and the AIDS virus – HIV. A young Presbyterian minister broke his foot in a church basketball game and received a dose of this tainted blood because he was a mild hemophiliac. This dose infected him with both hepatitis-C and HIV. Unknowingly, he infected his wife and she died soon after, leaving him to raise two small children.
This minister was Dana Kuhn who has since gone on to become the country’s foremost advocate for cleaning up the blood supply and was instrumental in gaining reparation payments to the survivors of the bad blood. Unfortunately, of the approximately 17,000 hemophilia patients infected, 10,000 died.
Twenty five years later, Dana presides over a nonprofit company that has as its sole purpose helping patients with rare diseases cope with the financial burden of life-sustaining drugs. Patient Services, Inc. is that company and where I now work since leaving Xerox which is where I worked during my time as interim assistant pastor.
God bless, Ken

If you haven't tried it out yet, we meet every Monday night except the first Monday night of each month - on that week we meet on Friday night for a dinner/social. Come visit us whenever you can. Hope to see you there!

If you are new to Hunton or even if you have been around a while but don't know where to plug in and apply your gifts and talents to serving the Lord, then you need to know about our Ministry Groups and their work.
The church performs its ministries through a team plan led by the deacons. Ministries and mission programs of the church are organized into three groups designed to enable the church to fulfill its purpose and to function in an efficient way. Deacons serve as advisors, supporters or leaders of all church-approved ministries. All members are encouraged to participate in one or more of the groups.

Director of Missions
Sharing His Love . .
Mission work begins at home. As a Church we need to remember that ‘Mission Work’ doesn’t always take place in another country or with people we’ve never met. From the Pastor on down we need to smile and acknowledge each other with a ‘good morning’ or ‘how are you?’ Take a moment to send a card, or make a phone call to encourage or support a member in need. These gestures are ‘Mission Work,’ too.
